Born and raised a city girl, my world almost came to an end when my parents decided to move to the suburbs in my early teens. In return for moving to the country, I requested a new bedroom set to seal the deal. What did I pick? Custom made, two toned high gloss formica of course! What? It was the early 90’s and it was cool. Even at a young age I knew how important it was for my new room to feel like me.
My design choices have evolved and the formica is nothing more than a distant memory. Truth be told it can still be found in all it’s glory at my parents home. However, my design philosophy has remained the same:
A room should be an effortless reflection of who you are.
It shouldn’t look like a page out of a catalog or the set from your favorite TV show. Your friends and family should be able to walk into your space and immediately feel comfortable because it reminds them of you. With a love for amazing, but accessible design I am a huge believer in letting everyone know that they too can have a beautiful home — regardless of the budget. An effortless blend of high and low, my style fearlessly mixes thrift store finds and designer upholstery. I love the mix of high and low end pieces. Good design shouldn’t be a luxury.
